Literature Text

"Der kleiner Fuchs"
By Devon Pike for his foxie.

In walks the foxie,
Swaggering back and forth
Tail floating to and fro
Like a ribbon caught in the wind
Sly grin on foxie's face
Carefully placed black footpaws
And profile carefully hidden.

In walks the foxie,
One thing on her mind,
A glimmer in her eyes,
Small pink tongue licking her chops
Laps over her muzzle
Tastes the air
Focused on me.

In walks the foxie,
Stalking straight for her prize,
Little red arrow
Flying straight and true
Sizing me up, slowly
Ready to act,
But choosing her time.

In walks the foxie,
She pauses and flicks her tail,
Crouches down and sniffs the air,
Little black button nose, twitching
Eyes determined, back tense,
Legs strung tight and hind lowered
I take a sharp breath.

In walks the foxie,
POUNCE!
A goofy little poem for my foxie.
